UNITED KINGDOM
Legal Age
AGE 13
You can be employed for a certain number of hours a week (sg children study 24hrs for goodness sake!)

AGE 14
You can go to the pub, but you cannot drink or buy alcohol (then wads the pt of going pub)
You are responsible for wearing a seat belt ( in sg, everyone is responsible, but we dont. at least in the back seat.)

AGE 16
You can leave school (cool man i like that.)
You can choose your own doctor (who cant =.=)
You can claim social security benefit (free money!! $$$)
You can work full time (KFC?)
You can leave home with your parents’ consent (which parent let their child go off =X)
You can get married with one parent’s consent (why not 2?)
You can drink wine or beer with a meal in a restaurant (not in a pub? =X )
You can hold a licence to drive a moped (tell me wads a moped)
You can buy a ticket in the National Lottery (Toto!!!)

AGE 17
You can hold a licence to drive any vehicle except certain heavy ones (wad.. cranes?)
You can engage in street trading (trade wad.. cards?)
You can purchase an air rifle (haha shoot air ar?)
You can leave home without your parents’ consent (li jia chu zou orh hor!)

AGE 18
You can buy cigarettes or tobacco (im surprised they have a age limit for this)
You can appear before adult courts (can i choose juvenile court then?)
You can get married without your parents’ consent (muahahah polygamy!!!)
You can vote (dont rlly care? lols)
You can act as an executor of a person’s will (means wad? get money ar)
You can bet (16yrs can buy National Lottery, now then let us bet)
You can buy fireworks (lol. okayyy buy them but cannot light them issit?)
You can change your name (iJay Mun Shan Jie)
You can apply for a passport (then before 18 how you go other country)
You can own houses and land (bungalow in sentosa~)
You can apply for a mortgage (wad? sub prime crisis again ar?)
You can go abroad to sing, play or perform professionally ( i did that when i was 13..)
You can sit on a jury (who likes to be seated)
You can be a blood donor ( blood blood!!!)

but im stuck in singapore.. so..

SINGAPORE
Alcohol
Minimum age for purchasing alcohol - 18 years of age ( nt going to touch alcohol. YUKS. except tiramisu)

Chewing Gum
The sale of chewing gum is banned in Singapore but its consumption is not. ( i didnt know that)

Driving
Minimum age for obtaining a driver's license - 18 years of age (hurry up and register for a ride in YongJian's 'BMW convertable into Mercedes Benz' in about 40years time!)

Drugs
Consumption of drugs is an offence and a heavy penalty awaits offenders. See Down with Drugs for more information. (yea.. who needs drugs when we have studies..)

Education
Education up to Primary 6 is compulsory (1more month to Alvl.. QUIT JC LA!)

Identity Card
Once a citizen of Singapore reaches the age of 15, he/she needs to register for an Identity Card (haha my ic de photo very shuai!)

Marriage
A Special Marriage License is needed for people below the age of 18 who want to get married. For Muslim marriages, the minimum age is 16 and parents must be present if the male is below 21 years of age. (imagine a mrs mun at 16yr old =D )

Movies
Legal minimum age for movies categorised as Restricted Artistic R(A) - 21 years. (shit 3more years)

National Service
All male Singapore citizens and permanent residents (PR) who reach the age of sixteen and a half years old are liable for National Service. They are required to serve two or two and a half years of full-time service and up to 40 days of National Service every year until the age of 50 (for senior officers) or 40 (for junior officers). (siansation!!!)

Nightclubs
Minimum age for entry into nightclubs - 18 years (i dont want to go there srsly. no point. go there do wad. sing choir songs? shake abit? drink plain water? zz )

Sex
Minimum age to engage in sexual intercourse - 16 years (how come UK dun have =( )

Smoking
Legal minimum age for the purchase of cigarettes or to smoke in a public place - 18 years of age (not gonna smoke either bleh. )
